Tatenda Mutenga has over 10 years of experience in Developmental processes with focus on Agribusiness and Poverty Alleviation Programs. For 6 years he managed Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), has knowledge and practical experience for Sub-sector and Value Chain Analyses, Development and Market Linkages. He supported implementation of various Value Chain and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) projects in FAO managing annual budgets of over $3.5 million.
At the Netherlands Development Organization (SNV) he worked as a market linkages advisor and supported the reactivation of the Cashew Value Chain development in the central and northern regions of Mozambique including identification of possible candidate organizations to become Fair Trade clients.
In the Financial Sector he has worked for one of the leading micro-finance institutions in Mozambique mainly dealing with high turnover agricultural projects and various income-generating activities.
He has a strong background in carrying out baseline & feasibility studies; quantitative & qualitative researches; DRR, Water and Sanitaion, Health, Food Security surveys at the micro and macro levels.
He also has vast knowledge of methodologies, advisory techniques and practical experiences for community development projects incorporating Food Security and Nutrition, HIV/AIDS and gender mainstreaming using Socio-Economic and Gender Analysis (SEAGA).
He holds a BSc (Honours) in Agriculture and Natural Resources with an Agribusiness Major, an MSc in Rural Development, and an MBA. Additionally he is studying for a Master in Food, Society and International Food Governance.
Henrique Bettencourt has over ten years experience in project management and project finance and undertook consulting assignments in Mozambique and USA on business planning, and financial modeling. At Finantia he conducted several market studies and sector analysis, he also developed feasibility studies and fundraising for various agribusiness projects. He’s a Certified IFC Business Edge and SME toolkit Trainer, has an BSc. in Agribusiness and an MBA with focus on finance. He raised about $3 million in grants for agribusiness Greenfield projects in Manica and for UNDP he conducted a value chain analysis and pre-feasibility studies.
